What if feeling broken wasn’t the end of the story? (TEDxBerlin)
Millions of kids and adults are going through their lives believing they’re broken — not because of who they are, but because of the systems and stories that define difference as a deficit.
This is the idea I brought to the TEDx Berlin stage — and it’s one I’ve been living with for a long time, as a parent, as an advocate, and honestly, as someone who spent years not understanding my own brain.
In this talk, I explore how understanding and embracing neurodivergence is helping families and generations of adults rewrite their stories — from shame to self-acceptance, from deficit to identity. I hope it offers something useful, whether you’re a parent in the thick of it, an adult who’s still making sense of your own story, or someone who loves a person who’s differently wired.
I’ve been helping families rewrite their stories since 2016 — through the podcast, the book, speaking engagements, and a community of parents who truly get it. I especially love town halls and intimate “in conversation with” events for parents and educators, allowing for authentic audience engagement and building community.
